Legal informationLaw 5651, KVKK and commercial messages.
What you need to know as a business offering internet to its guests, in plain language.
Law No. 5651
Law No. 5651 regulates publications on the internet and those who provide internet access. Businesses that offer internet to their guests, such as cafés, hotels and stores, are referred to in the legislation as mass-use providers.
By storing daily logs of guest connections with a timestamp, Wifi Cebimde helps with your record-keeping in this context. Logs are stored for the period prescribed by legislation. Besides record-keeping, the legislation may include other obligations; Wifi Cebimde does not claim to meet all of them.
Personal data (KVKK)
The KVKK (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law) regulates the processing of personal data and is a separate law from Law No. 5651. When a guest connects to the Wi‑Fi, their phone number is collected only for sign-in verification and legal record-keeping. Guests cannot continue on the welcome page without reading and accepting the privacy notice.
For details, see the KVKK Privacy Notice.
Commercial messages (ETK / İYS)
To send commercial messages containing promotions, discounts or advertising to a guest's phone number, separate and explicit consent must be obtained from the guest and recorded in the Message Management System (İYS). The number collected for Wi‑Fi sign-in is not used for this purpose.
What Wifi Cebimde doesn't do
- It does not log the sites guests visit [DOĞRULA].
- It does not provide a content filtering service.
- It does not do marketing with guest data, nor does it recommend doing so.
- It does not take on the business's legal obligations on its behalf.
